Germany...Berlin, to be exact...

Usually, when thinking and dreaming of places I'd love to visit, the top several slots on my list are filled with places like France, (Paris specifically, but I'd love to tour the country) England, Spain, Italy, Wales, Greece...or someplace tropical and sunshiney like Hawaii, The Carribean, Jamaica,etc...

For some reason unknown me to, several places have never really made that list. Like Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Hungary. However, when I stop to think about it, I have to admit, that if given the chance to visit Berlin, Germany, I would definitely jump on the opportunity. I'm sure the countryside is beautiful, the architecture in the cities, magnificent, the museums and history (even though I've never been much of a history buff), fascinating and even the nightlife...well...interesting. :)

I've always thought that the best way to visit (anywhere really) would be to stay for awhile to give yourself the time to explore and really get a taste of the culture.Rent apartments in Berlin, eat the food, visit with the natives, learn some of the language, walk in the parks, thoroughly explore the shopping centers and districts of Berlin, visit surrounding villages, etc. Doesn't it just sound like so much fun??

Unfortunately, I don't see that happening in the near future. But, I continue to dream and think to myself "Someday...". :) For anyone who ends up luckier than me, and is looking to take a trip to Berlin, maybe even for the holidays (!!) check out holiday rentals and plenty of travel guides to ensure that your trip is as well laid out and experience-filled as possible.
